Franklin Industries merchant bars and shapes are hot rolled from rail steel to meet ASTM specification A499 which requires a minimum yield strength of 50,000 PSI and a minimum tensile strength of 80,000 PSI. Average yield and tensile strengths for Franklin Industries bars and shapes are greater than 60,000 and 100,000 PSI respectively.
